Frequently asked questions
How many cake pops can I coat with 1 pack?
A 250g pack covers about 25 to 30 classic cake pops (8g of Déco Melts per cake pop). For an 18-20 cm drip cake, plan 80-100g per cake.
How to thin Déco Melts that are too thick?
Add 1/2 teaspoon of neutral vegetable oil per 250g (sunflower or grape seed oil). Never add water, the mixture would harden immediately.
Difference between Wilton Candy Melts and Fun Cakes Déco Melts?
Wilton Candy Melts are the original American reference, inventor of this product category. Déco Melts Fun Cakes are the European equivalent, with a similar composition. Wilton offers 125g bags, Fun Cakes offers 250g bags.
Can white Déco Melts be colored?
Yes, but only with fat-soluble food coloring. Water-soluble gel colorings instantly harden the Déco Melts. Prefer the pre-colored version to save time.
Orange tip?
Wilton orange may appear more fluorescent after melting than before: this is normal, related to the thermal dilution of pigments.
