Colour Mill Cobalt Oil-Soluble Food Colouring 100 ml
Cobalt shade, 100 ml Pro size for fat-based mixtures
Colour Mill Cobalt evokes Delft ceramic pigment and tropical fish scales. This concentrated oil-soluble food colouring is designed for fat-based pastry mixtures: melted white chocolate, ganache, buttercream, and sugar paste. The 100 ml bottle is intended for workshops with regular production: at the same volume, it costs approximately 35% less per ml than the 20 ml bottle. This shade is particularly sought after for large-scale tropical ocean-themed layer cakes and Mediterranean destination wedding cakes.

- Made in Australia, using proprietary pigment encapsulation technology
How to use
- Same dosage as the 20 ml size: 2 to 4 drops per 250 g for a pastel shade, up to 20 drops for a dark shade
- Shake the bottle before use and mix into a base tempered to between 25 and 30°C
- For large quantities, measure proportionally to the weight of the mixture rather than by the number of drops
- Do not use on a water-based mixture (royal icing, syrup): the Colour Mill water-soluble range is intended for this purpose
Please note: the 100 ml size becomes worthwhile from several coloured preparations per week; for occasional use or testing a shade, the 20 ml bottle remains more suitable.
Frequently asked questions
Does this colouring withstand baking in the oven?
Yes, the shade remains stable up to 180°C and does not lighten after baking, unlike many conventional liquid food colourings.
Should the dosage be adjusted according to the amount of mixture?
Yes, the stated dosage is for 250 g of base: double or triple the number of drops proportionally for larger quantities.
How should the 100 ml bottle be stored after opening?
Close it tightly after each use, store it away from light at 15 to 22°C, and use it within 12 months to preserve pigment intensity.
