Colour Mill Lemon is a concentrated oil-soluble colorant in a 20 ml dropper bottle. Its oil-based formula blends directly into chocolate, cocoa butter, ganaches, and buttercreams without causing the mixture to seize. The Lemon shade produces a lighter, fresher lemon yellow than Yellow, with a barely perceptible hint of green.

Please note: this colorant is oil-soluble and does not dissolve in water-based preparations (royal icing, syrup). Shake the bottle before use and add the color gradually: it is easier to darken a shade that is too light than to lighten a base that is already too strong. Could this colorant stain hands or work surfaces?

Like any concentrated colorant, Lemon may slightly mark porous surfaces or skin on direct contact. Work with gloves and clean surfaces promptly with hot soapy water.

Is this colorant suitable for royal icing or water-based fondant?

No: Lemon is an oil-soluble, oil-based colorant. It blends into fats (chocolate, ganache, cocoa butter, buttercream) but does not dissolve in a water-based preparation such as classic royal icing.

How long can the bottle be kept once opened?

When tightly closed and stored away from light and heat, the Lemon bottle retains its properties for several months. Check the best-before date indicated on the label.
