FUNCAKES Black Mini Sugar Pearls 80 g are hard sugar pearls measuring 2 to 3 mm in diameter, colored with vegetable charcoal (E153).

Recommended uses
- Fondant covering: sprinkle over a covered cake for an even textured finish.
- Royal icing and buttercream: apply at the last moment, before the icing has fully set.
- Ganache and whipped cream: sprinkle lightly over cupcakes and entremets.
- Drip cake: place on the still-liquid drip for optimal adhesion.
- Black-and-white graphic cake: sprinkle along the edge of a white covering for a crisp contrasting effect.
- Halloween decoration: a black border combined with orange or purple covering.

One 80 g pouch covers 4 to 8 cakes when lightly sprinkled, or 2 to 4 cakes with a generous decoration such as a continuous border.
Does the black color bleed when it comes into contact with wet icing?
No, the hard sugar pearl does not release coloring on dry contact. However, prolonged contact with very wet icing may slightly soften the surface of the pearl: apply at the last moment.
Is a larger size available for regular production?
