Frequently asked questions

How many cake pops can I coat with 1 pack?

One 250g pack covers about 25 to 30 classic cake pops (8g of Déco Melts per cake pop). For 18-20 cm drip cake, plan 80-100g per cake.

How to thin Déco Melts that are too thick?

Add 1/2 teaspoon of neutral vegetable oil per 250g (sunflower or grape seed oil). Never add water, the mixture would harden immediately.

Difference between Wilton Candy Melts and Déco Melts Fun Cakes?

Wilton Candy Melts are the original American reference, inventor of this product category. Déco Melts Fun Cakes are the European equivalent, with a similar composition. Wilton offers 125g bags, Fun Cakes 250g bags.

Can white Déco Melts be colored?

Yes, but only with oil-soluble food coloring. Water-soluble gel colorings instantly harden Déco Melts. Prefer the pre-colored version to save time.

Yellow tip?

Wilton Candy Melts are more fluid than other brands after melting: pour quickly for drip cake before thickening.
