Uses and occasions

Use this half-sphere to present a dome or baked Alaska model in a display case, during training, or to test a decoration before reproducing it on an actual preparation. Two half-spheres of the same diameter can be assembled to form a complete sphere. Cover the support with fondant for a finished look, or paint it for a strictly decorative presentation.

Please note: this half-sphere is a non-edible polystyrene support. It does not replace a food-safe mold and must never come into direct contact with a preparation intended for consumption. For a demonstration or display, cover it with fondant or wafer paper. For a real baked Alaska or edible mousse dome, use a dedicated food-safe silicone mold.

Frequently asked questions

Can this half-sphere be used to prepare a real baked Alaska?

No. It is a non-edible polystyrene support intended for demonstrations or display only. For a real baked Alaska, use a food-safe silicone mold.

How do you assemble two half-spheres into a complete sphere?

Choose two half-spheres of the same diameter, lightly sand the edges if necessary for a clean fit, then secure them with a small amount of glue or moistened fondant before covering the entire piece.

Which diameter should you choose for a demonstration dome?

Diameters 4 to 6 cm are suitable for individual pieces or decoration tests, while diameters 7 to 10 cm are suitable for main display pieces or group presentations.
