Use
Split the pod lengthwise using a sharp knife, scrape the inside to collect the vanilla seeds, then add the seeds and pod to the liquid to be infused. Infuse for at least 30 minutes, or bring to a boil for faster extraction.
Waste-saving tip: after infusion, rinse the pod thoroughly, dry it, then blend it with sugar to make homemade vanilla sugar.
