Gauge 18 is the thickest and most rigid floral wire in the Azucren white range. Its strength makes it suitable for large sugar flowers (sunflowers, lilies, tropical flowers) and pastillage structures that must hold without bending. 40 cm long, pack of 50 stems, with an easy-to-conceal white color beneath florist tape.

Tip: reserve gauge 18 for armatures and main stems. For petals and details, switch to gauges 22 to 26, which are finer and easier to conceal in the finished flower.

Gauge 18 or gauge 20—which should you choose?
Gauge 18 is thicker and more rigid than gauge 20. Reserve it for structures, pastillage, and heavier flowers; gauge 20 is suitable for the main stems of classic large flowers such as peonies.
Can it be used for a multi-tiered arrangement?
Yes, that is its primary use. Twist several gauge 18 stems together to form a central pole, then distribute the flowers mounted on finer gauges along the structure.
Can the wire be inserted directly into the cake?
No. Like all floral wires, it is not edible. Protect each stem with a food-safe straw or a dedicated support before inserting it, and remove everything before cutting and serving.
