What is the difference between these thin circles and a thick Cake Drum?
The 1 mm circles are designed for layer separators in a tiered cake or as a lightweight base for an individual cake. Thick Cake Drums (1.2 cm) are instead dedicated to the single base of a tiered cake to support all the weight. Both are complementary in a professional workshop.
Can you place an entire wedding cake on these circles?
For the base of a heavy multi-tier wedding cake, we recommend a thick Cake Drum (such as Plateau Azucren or Cake Drum Rose Gold). For the intermediate and upper tiers, these thin 1 mm circles are perfect as they remain visually discreet.
How to build a 3-tier cake with these circles?
Buy 3 sets: 15 cm (top tier) + 20 cm (middle tier) + 30 cm (base bottom tier, to be completed with a thick Cake Drum underneath). Stack each tier by placing a circle between each, and stabilize the whole with dowels (food-grade plastic pillars).
Which side to choose: Gold or Silver?
The choice depends on the event theme: Gold for classic weddings, luxury events, red/beige/champagne atmospheres. Silver for modern ceremonies, blue/purple/white events, neutral baptisms. The advantage of double-sided: you decide at the last moment based on the theme confirmed by the client.
How many times can a cake ring be reused?
With careful maintenance (immediate cleaning without abrasive products, gentle drying, flat storage), expect 5 to 10 uses depending on the type of cake and following instructions. For high-end event pastries, plan regular replacement to maintain impeccable presentation quality.
Is there a square version?
Yes, Patissland also offers the square version of the same product, in 3 complementary sizes (20, 25, 30 cm). Prefer this for rectangular cakes, number cakes, and tiered cakes with square layers. For round cakes and round desserts, stick with this round version.
Are they freezer-safe for frozen desserts?
Yes, the aluminum finish and cellulose support withstand refrigeration or freezing without damage. Be sure to wipe off any condensation before and after cold storage to avoid stains on the metallic finish.
