Recommended uses
- Christmas and the holiday season, contrasted with white or green
- Valentine's Day and romantic family celebrations
- Red velvet cakes and red-fruit decorations to intensify the color palette
Instructions
- Heat the sealed pouch in the microwave in 10-second intervals (or in a warm water bath over low heat) until smooth and lump-free
- Test it on the edge of a bowl: the drip should stop after 2 to 3 cm without running all the way to the bottom
- Apply to a thoroughly chilled cake, gently squeezing from the edge outward, then refrigerate for 15 minutes to set the drip
Ingredients and allergens
Ingredients: Sugar, vegetable fat (palm), emulsifiers: E322 (soy), E433, E492, whey powder, flavoring, antioxidants: E307, E307b, milk solids, cream powder, glycerin, vegetable oil (rapeseed), color: E129.
Allergens: Contains: soy, milk.
Please note: Heat in short 10-second intervals rather than all at once: overheating makes the drip too runny, causing it to slide down to the cake board. The cake should be taken out of the refrigerator with the outer frosting already set so the drips stop cleanly.
Warning: E129 may have adverse effects on activity and attention in children.
Frequently asked questions
Will this drip's red color stay intense after the cake is baked?
The drip is applied after baking, directly onto the cooled cake: the color you see when applying it is the final color, unaffected by oven heat.
Are multiple layers needed for a well-saturated red?
No, one layer is usually enough. Saturation depends mainly on how quickly it is applied and the cake's temperature, not on the number of passes.
Can this red drip stain white fondant?
Yes, like any colored chocolate, it can slightly tint a light-colored surface with prolonged contact. Apply it to frosting that has already set and quickly wipe away any overflow.
