How do you make the glitter stick to the cake?
Sprinkle them over a slightly sticky surface: fresh buttercream, unset icing or wet royal icing. On a dry surface, a thin coating of neutral glaze or syrup applied with a brush is enough to make them stick.
Can they be added to whipped cream well in advance?
They are made with corn starch: prolonged contact with moisture will soften them and make them lose their sparkle. On whipped cream or chantilly, add them at the last moment before serving.
