What is the difference between Shimmer Dust and a standard powdered food coloring?
Shimmer Dust is a pearlescent metallic-effect finishing powder for the surface of an already-colored base. A standard powdered food coloring is used to tint the mixture (paste, chocolate, cream). The two complement each other.
Does Ruby Red work on white fondant, or do I need red fondant?
Both options are possible. On white fondant, the finish is a delicate, bright ruby red. On red or burgundy fondant, the effect is deeper and more jewel-like.
How many pieces can one jar decorate?
The powder is highly concentrated: one pot, used efficiently, can decorate the equivalent of 10 to 15 large items, such as a multi-tier wedding cake.
