Rose Leaves
Veiner for creating realistic rose leaf veins
This Katy Sue veiner reproduces the natural veins of a rose leaf on pre-cut fondant or flower paste. The resulting leaves, measuring approximately 1 cm to 4 cm depending on the template used, complement handmade sugar roses. It pairs perfectly with the Maple Leaves veiner, allowing you to vary the plant species on the same cake.

Frequently asked questions
How does a veiner work differently from a traditional mold?
A veiner does not create the leaf's shape: it presses a vein pattern onto a leaf that has already been cut out with a cutter, giving it a natural appearance before shaping.
What leaf sizes can I create with this veiner?
The Rose Leaves veiner offers several templates, approximately 1 cm to 4 cm, allowing you to vary the scale within the same sugar rose arrangement.
How can I pair these leaves with fondant roses?
Once veined and gently curved around a toothpick for drying, the leaves can be attached to the base of the roses with a little royal icing or moistened fondant.
