Complete mermaid for an ocean-themed cake decoration
This mould reproduces a 3D mermaid, including the bust and face, in a single cavity. Combined with the Mermaid Tail mould, it allows you to create a complete topper for a sea- or fantasy-themed cake, using fondant, gum paste or chocolate.

Tip: Fill the mould without overfilling, scrape off the excess to reveal the facial and bust details, then unmould gently. A pinch of cornflour makes unmoulding easier. Wash and dry the mould before first use.

Is this mould compatible with the Mermaid Tail mould from the same range?
Yes, the two moulds are designed to be assembled: the bust from this mould attaches to the tail made separately to create a complete mermaid on the cake.
Which paste gives the best result for facial features?
Flower paste (gum paste), being firmer, reproduces fine facial and hair details better than classic fondant.
Can the mermaid be painted once it has been unmoulded and dried?
Yes, powdered or gel food colouring applied with a brush can add subtle tones to the skin and hair, as well as pearlescent highlights once the paste has dried.
