Colour Mill Sand Oil-Based Colouring 100 ml
Sand shade, 100 ml Pro size for fat-based mixtures
Colour Mill Sand evokes a dune at sunset and a deserted beach. This concentrated oil-based food colouring is designed for fat-based baking mixtures: melted white chocolate, ganache, buttercream and fondant. The 100 ml bottle is intended for busy production kitchens: for the same volume, it costs about 35% less per ml than the 20 ml bottle. This shade is particularly popular for regularly produced nature- and boho-themed wedding cakes, as well as nomadic-chic-themed event cupcakes.

- Shake the bottle before use and mix into a base at 25 to 30°C
- For larger quantities, measure proportionally to the weight of the mixture rather than by the number of drops
- Do not use in water-based mixtures (royal icing, syrup): Colour Mill's water-soluble range is designed for this purpose
Ingredients and Allergens
Ingredients: Humectant: E422, vegetable oil (rapeseed), colouring: E172, emulsifiers: E322, E433.
Please note: the 100 ml size offers better value if you make several batches of coloured mixtures per week; for occasional use or testing a shade, the 20 ml bottle is a better fit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use it in water-based icing or royal icing?
No, this oil-based colouring is designed for fat-based mixtures. For royal icing, syrups or water-based icing, use Colour Mill's water-soluble range.
How much should I use for a highly saturated shade?
Start with 5 to 10 drops per 250 g of mixture and adjust in increments of 2 to 3 drops until you reach the desired shade, allowing it to rest between additions.
Does the 100 ml bottle have a dropper?
Yes, the soft cap has a dropper opening: a gentle squeeze dispenses a precise drop.
