Usage Tips
- Cover your cake with sugar paste rolled to the right thickness (about 3 to 5 mm).
- Smooth the top surface first with the flat base, using light and even circular motions.
- Then work the sides applying even pressure from top to bottom to remove air bubbles.
- Refine the rounded edges with the rounded side of the smoother, without forcing to avoid cracks.
- Clean with warm water after use. Dry with a soft cloth and store flat.
Cake Designer Tip
For an even shinier finish, polish the sugar paste one last time with the palm of your hand (sprinkled with cornstarch if needed) after using the smoother. The natural heat of the hand shines the surface and reveals the paste’s glow. For very sharp contemporary edges, use this smoother paired with a second straight smoother (flat side).
