Frequently asked questions

How many cake pops can I coat with 1 pack?

One 340g pack coats about 40 to 45 classic cake pops (8g of Candy Buttons per cake pop). For 18-20 cm drip cakes, plan 80-100g per cake.

How to thin Deco Melts that are too thick?

Add 1/2 teaspoon of neutral vegetable oil per 340g (sunflower or grape seed oil). Never add water, the mixture would harden immediately.

Difference between PME Cake Candy Buttons and other brands?

PME Cake Candy Buttons are a British cake design staple, 340g size (between Wilton 125g and Fun Cakes 250g/1kg). Similar composition and use: sugar + vegetable fat + colorings. The 340g size offers a good price/quantity ratio for regular cake designers.

Can white Deco Melts be colored?

Yes, but only with fat-soluble food coloring. Water-soluble gel colorings instantly harden the Deco Melts. Prefer the pre-colored version to save time.

Pink tip?

The PME Cake pink may appear more saturated in photos: test on 1-2 buttons before full coating to validate the shade.
