How many dowels should I use per tier?
Generally, use 5 to 8 dowels arranged in an even circle, depending on the weight of the tier above, with a cake drum between tiers to distribute the load evenly.
Can they really be reused?
Yes. Unlike porous wood, polypropylene does not absorb cake juices. Hand-wash them after each use before reusing.
How do I adjust the length to fit my cake?
Insert the dowel through to the board below, mark the exact height of the tier, remove it, then cut off the excess with scissors. It should be flush with the surface before you place the next tier.
