Patissland - Food coloring

Liquid food colorings for airbrushes

Fluid-viscosity liquid food colorings, calibrated for airbrushes: spray gradients and veils onto fondant, icing, and cookies.

A formula designed for the nozzle

Unlike thicker gel or standard liquid food coloring, these have a fluid viscosity calibrated to avoid clogging an airbrush nozzle. This is the only type of food coloring suitable for this equipment.

How to use them

Always strain the food coloring before pouring it into the cup to remove impurities. Dilute it with a few drops of rejuvenator (food-grade alcohol) if it is too thick, and apply several fine coats rather than one heavy coat.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use gel food coloring in an airbrush?
No, it will clog the nozzle. Only special liquid airbrush food coloring is suitable.

What surfaces can it be used on?
Fondant, royal icing, cookies. For chocolate, use an oil-based food coloring.

How do I clean the airbrush after use?
Rinse with distilled water after each color; see our airbrush collection for details.
