Gold from the Fractal MetallInk range is a ready-to-use, water-based golden edible paint supplied in a 30 g bottle. Concentrated in just two colorants, it produces a bright golden tone, more vivid than the aged Antique Gold shade from the same range.

Recommended uses
- Apply with a brush or sponge to fondant, marzipan, biscuits, and macarons
- Dried royal icing
- Shake the bottle well before use; water-based, no dilution required
- Two thin coats are preferable to one thick coat to prevent runs
- Can be applied as a finish over a base already colored with Fractal gel food coloring

What is the difference compared with Antique Gold?
Gold uses only two colorants (iron oxide E172, quinoline yellow E104) for a bright, concentrated golden tone (7.56%), hence a lower maximum dosage (0.87 g/kg) than Antique Gold.
How many coats are needed for even coverage?
Two thin coats are better than one thick coat, which may run on a vertical surface; allow to dry between coats.
Can it be combined with Fractal gel food colorings?
Yes, applying Gold as a finish over a base already colored with gel food coloring, such as Vivid Red or Black, enhances the metallic contrast.
