The Fractal range at Patissland
The Full-Fill Gel Food Coloring (30 g tubes and 5 x 12 g Essential kit) colors sugar paste, fondant, and cold creams without changing their texture at the recommended dosages. MetallInk Food Paint is a ready-to-use water-based paint, applied with a brush in thin layers to sugar paste, biscuits, or macarons. ShimmAir Airbrush Liquid Food Coloring is used undiluted in an airbrush (minimum nozzle size 0.3 mm) for even metallic gradients. SuPearl Pearlescent Powder is applied with a dry brush or diluted with food-grade alcohol to create a pearlescent veil or coating on chocolate and confectionery. Calligra Food Coloring Pen enables lettering and fine details on any dry, hard, or semi-hard surface.
Choosing the right shade and format
For coloring throughout the mixture (sugar paste, cream, royal icing), Full-Fill gel remains the benchmark. For a metallic surface effect, MetallInk (opaque paint applied with a brush) and ShimmAir (airbrush liquid) produce different finishes: the paint covers in two thin coats, while the airbrush liquid allows a gradual gradient. SuPearl pearlescent powder, formulated with a single coloring (iron oxide E172), offers the longest shelf life in the range—approximately 5 years when protected from light. All Fractal products should be stored away from light, and most colored gels and liquids can be mixed with one another to adjust a shade.
