Renshaw Ivory Sugar Paste 1 kg
Warm ivory shade from the Renshaw range, a soft alternative to pure white, 1 kg.
Renshaw Ivory Sugar Paste 1 kg offers a cream shade that is slightly warmer than pure white, without turning distinctly yellow. Firm, elastic texture from the Extra range for smooth covering and precise modeling.
This shade is particularly popular for classic wedding cakes and vintage decorations, where pure white can look too cool beside lace or gold detailing.

Instructions
- Tempering: remove the paste from its packaging 15 to 30 minutes before use so it reaches 18 to 22 °C.
- Kneading: knead for 1 to 2 minutes to soften it. If it remains firm, microwave for 5 to 10 seconds.
- Rolling out: dust the work surface with powdered sugar or cornstarch, never flour. Roll out to a thickness of 3 to 4 mm.
- Covering: place the paste over the cake, already coated with smoothed, chilled ganache or buttercream, then smooth the top before the sides.
- Finishing: cut off the excess with a knife or pastry wheel, then smooth once more with a fondant smoother to remove air bubbles.

Frequently asked questions
Your questions, our advice
How much ivory sugar paste do you need for a wedding cake?
Allow 750 g for a 20 cm diameter cake, and 1 kg for 25-28 cm. For a tiered cake, add the requirements for each tier, with a 20% margin.
What is the difference between Renshaw ivory and white?
Ivory is a warmer cream shade than pure white, achieved through a slight recipe adjustment rather than a prominent colorant. White remains the most neutral shade and the easiest to recolor afterward.
Does Renshaw ivory contain a declared synthetic colorant?
The supplier does not provide a specific E-number for this cream shade, so we have not listed one here as a precaution. Check the label on the package you receive, which should be followed in case of doubt or allergy.
