Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C (convection oven 160°C).
-
Prepare 250 g of FunCakes Deluxe Sponge Cake Mix according to package instructions. Grease the pan with FunCakes release spray and spread the cake batter inside using a spatula. Bake in the oven for about 30-35 minutes until fully cooked, then immediately unmold on a rack to cool.
-
Prepare 100 g of FunCakes Swiss Meringue Buttercream Mix according to package instructions.
-
Using a cake leveler, cut the cake 2 times. From the round punch cutter set, take a ring approximately 9-10 cm in diameter and cut out 4 rings from each cake layer.
-
Assemble 4 small cakes by stacking 3 rings of cake filled and iced with FunCakes Swiss Meringue Buttercream. Save some buttercream to glue the balls onto the cake. Let the assembled cakes rest in the refrigerator for half an hour.
-
Knead the FunCakes white fondant well and cover the cakes with it.
-
Use FunCakes vintage purple fondant with the Karen Davies decorative coarse mesh ribbed edge stamp to make the hats. With a sharp knife, cut the shape from a slice of fondant. Glue this piece onto the cake with a little edible glue. With the same fondant color, create a finishing border and a scarf using the mold.
-
Using FunCakes Chic Aubergine fondant, make a pompom for the hat. With FunCakes rose white fondant, form small snowflakes using the smallest plunger cutter.
-
Roll out FunCakes black fondant very thinly and cut out circles for the eyes. Form the pupils with small pieces of white fondant.
-
Glue black pearls as the mouth on top of the cake and fix all other pieces onto the cake.
