Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C for fan oven).

  2. Prepare 500 grams of FunCakes Gingerbread Mix according to the instructions on the package. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for at least one hour. Roll out the dough on a flat surface dusted with rolling powder (2-3 mm thickness) and cut out the cookies. Bake the cookies in the middle of the oven for about 10 to 12 minutes until golden. Let the cookies cool on a cooling rack. Tip! For the cakes, you only need a few cookies; you can freeze the remaining dough or bake it to make fun Christmas cookies.

  3. Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C for fan oven).

  4. Prepare 200 grams of FunCakes Sponge Cake Mix according to the instructions on the package. Grease the pans with baking spray and divide the sponge batter into the two pans. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, then immediately remove the cakes from the pans onto a cooling rack after baking.

  5. Prepare 100 grams of FunCakes Royal Icing Mix according to the instructions on the package. Place tip #2 in the piping bag and fill it with royal icing. Decorate the gingerbread cookies with this icing and apply the black sugar pearls as eyes. Let harden.

  6. Prepare 125 grams of FunCakes Buttercream Mix according to the instructions on the package and flavor the buttercream to your taste with the flavor paste. Level the sponges twice using the leveler, fill them with buttercream, and cover them. Use the side of the spatula to create straight edges on the cake. Place the cakes in the refrigerator to set the buttercream.

  7. Knead 500 grams of marzipan well and roll it out on a surface dusted with rolling powder, then use it to cover the cakes.

  8. Knead 150 grams of green fondant and use the plunger cutter to cut out holly leaves. Attach them along the upper edge of the cake with a little edible glue. Attach the sugar gingerbread men along the lower edge of the cake using edible glue.

  9. Pipe a bit of royal icing on top of the cake and press the gingerbread man into it. Use a brush and a little royal icing to create a snow effect on the cake. Press the candy canes into the cake and place it in the refrigerator until serving. Tip! You can reinforce the gingerbread man by adding a skewer behind it.
