Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 180 °C (fan oven 160 °C).
-
Prepare 250 g FunCakes Deluxe Sponge Mix according to the package instructions. Grease the pan with FunCakes release spray and pour in the batter using the spatula. Bake the cake for about 30-35 minutes until fully cooked, then immediately after baking, turn out onto a rack and let cool completely.
-
Prepare 200 g FunCakes Buttercream Mix according to the package instructions. Flavor the buttercream with FunCakes Malaga flavor paste.
-
Cut the sponge 2x with the cake leveler and fill with the Malaga buttercream. Place some soaked raisins on each layer of buttercream. Cover the entire outside with a thin layer of buttercream and chill in the fridge to set.
-
Color a few tablespoons of buttercream with FunCakes Red Earth food coloring gel and spread it evenly around the cake.
-
Divide the remaining buttercream into 4 portions and color them with the 4 other FunCakes food coloring gels. Place the colored creams into piping bags fitted with adapters and different tips. The 6B tip goes into a piping bag without an adapter.
-
Using tip #103, pipe the scallop garland around the cake. Hold the wide end of the tip upwards and move the tip forward and back while turning. This will create a gentle ruffle effect.
-
With tip #6B, pipe a shell border on the top and bottom edges of the cake. Use the other tips to decorate the cake as you wish. The adapters allow you to easily switch tips and colors. Just unscrew the adapter, remove the tip, and put on another. This way, you can create different decorations using the same buttercream color.
