Steps

  1. Start a day in advance to make the wired flowers so they can dry well. For this, color your fondant yellow and pink with the color pastes and roll it out to a thickness of 2-3 mm. Cut out the flowers with the plunger cutter. Cut the floral wire in half and gently insert it into the base of the flowers. Then cut small circles from white fondant and attach them to the center of the flowers.

  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C (convection oven 160°C).

  3. Prepare 320 grams of FunCakes sponge cake mix as indicated on the package. Grease half of the ball mold and the other mold with release spray. Distribute the batter into the two molds. Bake for about 35 minutes then let cool on a cooling rack.

  4. Prepare 200 grams of FunCakes buttercream mix as indicated on the package and add the mango flavor to taste.

  5. Cut the cakes in half with the leveler and fill the two layers with buttercream. Stack the layers and coat the outside of the cake with a thin layer of buttercream to fill in holes and remove bumps. Place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes then apply another layer of buttercream. Use a side scraper to smooth the edges.

  6. Cover the drum with glaze gel and green fondant. Cover the round cake also with green fondant and the ball with red fondant. Knead some black fondant, roll it out, and cut a semicircle matching the shape of the ladybug's head. Then cut black and white circles to create the eyes. Cut a few more black circles for the ladybug’s spots. If you wish, you can make a pink bow. Mix the remaining green fondant with 1 teaspoon of tylo powder, roll out thinly and cut rose leaves with the plunger. Let them dry on crumpled paper towels. Once the leaves are dry enough, powder the edges with green powder using a brush.

  7. Make two small ladybugs from red and black fondant and draw spots on the body with the black edible pen. Create the large ladybug’s antennae by making two black fondant strips, slightly bend the ends and insert a toothpick at the bottom. Attach the antennae to the large ladybug and place it on the green cake (if using a cake board under the ladybug, you don’t need to insert wires into the cake). Decorate with pink and yellow flowers, powdered leaves, and one or two small ladybugs. Make a leaf garland along the lower edge of the cake and place a flower here and there. Write the name of the birthday person on the cake with the black pen and stick a small ladybug next to it. Finally, insert the flower picks into the cake where you place the wired flowers.
