Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C (convection oven 160°C).
-
Prepare 500 grams of FunCakes Red Velvet Cake Mix according to the package instructions. Grease the mold using the baking spray. Fill the greased molds with the batter and bake for about 30 minutes. Let cool on a rack.
-
For the dark chocolate ganache filling, melt 300 grams of dark chocolate chips in the microwave on defrost mode (do not melt completely). Bring 300 grams of cream to a boil and gradually pour it into the melted chocolate. Stir well to obtain a smooth ganache, cover with cling film and leave at room temperature.
-
For the dark chocolate ganache covering, melt 500 grams of dark chocolate chips in the microwave on defrost mode (do not melt completely). Bring 250 grams of cream to a boil. Gradually pour it into the chocolate and stir well to obtain a smooth ganache. Cover with cling film and keep at room temperature.
-
Once the cakes have cooled, cut the round cake twice using a cake leveler. Cut a round shape in the center of the slice using the 10 cm round cutter. Place an uncut layer on the cake board and create a barrier. Place the sliced layer with the hole on top, fill the hole with various sugar decorations. Apply the filling on the cake and cover with the third layer. Place the cake hemisphere on top. Smooth with the covering ganache.
-
Roll out the bright white sugarpaste and cover the smoothed cake. Do not fix the bottom to create a floating effect.
-
Color the white modeling paste with black food color gel to make the eyes and mouth. Use the oval and round cutters on the black modeling paste.
-
Using the template, cut out the bat wings and a strip to prepare the headband. Brush the folds of the wings with the brush handle. Let dry for a few minutes.
-
Color the white gum paste purple and orange with the FunColors gels. Make a roll of each color. Smooth them with the fondant smoother to avoid fingerprints. Twist them together to form the lollipop and fix it on the stick with edible glue.
-
Make 2 rolls with the gum paste to shape the arms. Attach the eyes, mouth, and headband with edible glue. Push one third of the lollipop into the cake, next to the arm. Lightly apply the pink powder on the cheeks for a blush effect.
