Steps

  1. Prepare 500 g of FunCakes cookie mix according to the package instructions. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for one hour.

  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C convection) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. Briefly knead the chilled dough until smooth, then roll it out to about 2 mm thickness. Cut out stars to the desired size. In some stars, cut out a smaller star in the center to create a hollow star. Bake the cookies for 9 to 12 minutes until lightly golden, then let them cool on the work surface.

  4. Prepare 450 g of FunCakes royal icing mix according to the package instructions and add a touch of FunCakes Strawberry flavoring. Once the icing is thick, gradually thin it with a few drops of water to a consistency similar to yogurt. Do this in several stages, adding water slowly to avoid making the icing too runny.

  5. Spoon a few tablespoons of royal icing and color it black, leaving the rest white. Place the icing in two piping bags fitted with an adapter and no. 003 tip. Cover half of the whole cookies with royal icing and let dry, preferably overnight.

  6. Spray some of the black iced cookies entirely with the gold metallic spray, and splatter others with the gold metallic food paint using a brush.

  7. Use the undecorated cookies as bases. Place a hollow star cookie on top, fixed with a little icing, fill the center with gold sugar strands and a small message written on parchment paper. Fix a decorated cookie on top with some royal icing, creating a three-layer stack of cookies.
