Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C with fan).
-
Prepare the 330 g of FunCakes sponge cake mix according to the package instructions. Grease the pans with release spray and raise them with a rim of parchment paper. Divide the batter into the pans and bake the cakes for about 30-35 minutes. Let the cakes cool on the cooling rack.
-
Prepare the 250 g of FunCakes Enchanted Cream® mix according to package instructions and flavor it with lemon flavor paste. Color enough Enchanted Cream® with the desired gel color (blue or pink).
-
Cut each cake twice using the cake leveler. Place one layer on a cake board atop a turntable and spread a layer of colored Enchanted Cream® on it.
-
Cut a circle out of the middle of the 4 cake layers and stack them alternating with layers of Enchanted Cream®. Fill the hole with the decoration mix of your choice, then cover the cake with a cake layer without a hole at the bottom.
-
Cover the entire cake with white Enchanted Cream® and refrigerate for half an hour to firm up.
-
Color the remaining white Enchanted Cream® pink and blue. Spread blue and pink Enchanted Cream® in spots on the cake, then smooth the entire cake again using the side scraper.
-
Place a sheet of cling film on your work surface and put the blue and pink Enchanted Cream® on it. Roll it into a log and put it into a piping bag fitted with a no. 1M tip. Pipe small tufts all around the top of the cake and sprinkle the Gender Reveal mix in the center.
