Steps

  1. Prepare 500 g of FunCakes Donut Mix according to the instructions on the package. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface to a thickness of 5 mm and cut out donut shapes. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and cover with a clean, ironed tea towel. Let rest for 25 minutes.

  2. Meanwhile, heat the deep fryer with sunflower oil to 180°C and pour the fine granulated sugar into a large bowl.

  3. Fry the donuts two at a time for about 90 seconds on each side until they are lightly golden. Let them drain on paper towels, then coat one side with granulated sugar. The small dough pieces left over after cutting can also be fried, then dusted with powdered sugar or rolled in a mixture of fine granulated sugar and cinnamon. This way, you can easily create a delicious tray filled with extra mini donuts.

  4. Divide the FunCakes Dip ’n Drip White into three bowls. Color one bowl with the FunCakes Pink Food Coloring Paste and the FunCakes Ivory Food Coloring Paste. Leave the third bowl white.

  5. Heat one bowl at a time in the microwave for about 10 seconds until slightly more fluid. Do not overheat, otherwise the Dip ’n Drip will crystallize! Place it in a piping bag and cut a small opening.

  6. Pour the Dip ’n Drip onto the unsugared side of the donut then immediately decorate each donut with FunCakes Metallic Sugar Sticks, FunCakes Chocolate Crunch Pearls, FunCakes Gold Nonpareils, FunCakes White Sugar Flower Decorations, FunCakes Mini Hearts, and FunCakes Pink Sugar Heart Decorations. If you wait too long, the decorations will not stick anymore, so decorate one donut at a time. For a larger quantity of donuts, simply double or triple the ingredients. However, it is best to prepare them in multiple batches, as some mixers do not handle large amounts well.
