Celebration Cake

FunCakesOriginal FunCakes recipe

It's time for a big party! It's FunCakes' 15th anniversary. For this celebration, of course, we had to make a birthday cake. This flower-decorated cake is a true centerpiece. If we had to describe a FunCakes birthday cake, this would be it!

Steps

  1. Knead small pieces of pastel-colored sugar paste evenly and twist them together until you get a rainbow-colored ball. Roll it out thinly and cut several small butterflies. Fold an A4 sheet into an M shape and place the butterflies on it to dry and take shape. Tip! It's best to prepare the butterflies one day in advance.

  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C for convection ovens) and grease the pans with release spray.

  3. Prepare 400 g of FunCakes Deluxe Genoise Cake Mix according to the package instructions and divide the batter into the two pans. Bake the cakes for about 30-35 minutes until fully cooked, then immediately cool on a cooling rack.

  4. Prepare 3x 150 g of FunCakes preparation for Enchanted Cream® according to the package instructions. Cut the cake 2 times with the leveler and fill with the jam of your choice and the Enchanted Cream®. Coat the outside of the cake with a thin layer of Enchanted Cream®.

  5. Stack the two cakes on top of each other using a cake board cut to measure for the 15 cm cake and rods adjusted for the 20 cm cake.

  6. Divide all the Enchanted Cream® into several bowls and color it in the desired colors. Fully decorate both cakes with rosettes, drop flowers, and stars in all the created colors. Insert sugar paste butterflies here and there on the cake cream.

  7. Wrap blue tape around 4 gauge 20 wires and twist them around the rolling pin to curl them. Do the same with some gauge 20 wires without tape. Spray these curls in gold with metallic spray.

  8. Stick the wires into the cake with a flower pick. Never insert the wires directly into the cake without protection due to wire oxidation.
