Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (fan oven 160 °C) and line the baking tray with parchment paper. Spray the edges with FunCakes release spray.

  2. Prepare 500 g of FunCakes cupcake mix according to the package instructions. Spread the cake batter into the pan. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until lightly golden, then let cool. Cut 4 equal cake wedges from the cake slice.

  3. Prepare 125 g of FunCakes buttercream mix according to the package instructions. Finish the buttercream and flavor it with FunCakes Coca-Cola flavor paste.

  4. Stack the cake pieces, spreading a layer of buttercream between each, and coat the entire outside with buttercream. Chill in the refrigerator for half an hour.

  5. Color about 450 g of FunCakes Bright White fondant cake color by mixing yellow and beige gels together. Color 150 g in light pink and 150 g in light turquoise. Leave 50 g white.

  6. Roll out the cake-colored fondant into a rectangular piece and cover the sides of the cake wedges. Use the smoothers to carefully smooth and adjust well.

  7. Roll out the pink fondant thinly and place it on top of the cake. Cut a wavy edge, like drops, with the sharp knife and stick the edges with FunCakes edible glue.

  8. Form thin rolls from the turquoise fondant and attach them to the cake; it's okay if they are a bit irregular.

  9. Knead the black fondant thoroughly with a good amount of Crisco and form long ribbons using the extruder. Stick these ribbons onto the cake with a little edible glue.

  10. Use the edible pen to add some accents here and there.

  11. Form a thick roll from turquoise fondant and twist it. Place a pink ball on top and draw a black line all around. Flatten the candle on your work surface and attach an ice cream stick to the back. Let dry.

  12. Finally, attach the “spiral” to the cake with a bit of edible glue and insert the candle.
