Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (convection oven 160°C) and grease the pans with release spray.

  2. Prepare 500 g of FunCakes Deluxe Sponge Cake Mix according to the package instructions. Divide the batter between the pans and bake for about 30-35 minutes until fully cooked. Immediately after baking, unmold onto a cooling rack and let cool.

  3. Prepare 300 g of FunCakes Buttercream Mix according to the package instructions.

  4. Cut the cakes with the cake saw 2 times, fill them with jam of your choice and a thin layer of buttercream, then spread a thin layer of buttercream all over the outside. Place the cakes in the refrigerator and let set for at least half an hour.

  5. Knead the covering paste until smooth and roll it out to a thickness of 2 mm, then cover the cakes. Impress a pattern on the smaller cake with the diamond cutter and glue pearls at the intersections. TIP! You can make this cake in white, pink, red, blue, and black! Discover our covering paste and colors here.

  6. Roll the covering paste into a log and roll it out very thinly. Impress the pattern with the impression mat, then use the roulette to cut a strip about 3 to 4 cm wide to wrap around the cake, then glue it with edible glue.

  7. Insert four dowels into the large cake and cut them to the right size. Place the small cake on top, using a board cut to size if necessary. If needed, apply a bit of buttercream between the two cakes to prevent slipping.

  8. Coat the polystyrene balls with glaze gel and then cover them with a thin piece of fondant. Attach the balls with some buttercream on top of the cake.
