Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C for convection ovens) and grease the pans with FunCakes Bake Release Spray.
-
Prepare 330 g of FunCakes Deluxe Sponge Mix according to the instructions on the package and divide the batter into the three pans. Bake the sponges for about 35 minutes until golden and baked through. Remove them from the pans immediately after baking onto a cooling rack and let them cool completely.
-
Prepare 200 g of FunCakes Buttercream Mix according to the package instructions and flavor it with FunCakes Flavor Paste of your choice.
-
Cut each biscuit into 2 with a cake saw and fill the layers with buttercream. Stack the two 15 cm cakes, placing a suitable cake board between them. Coat the two cakes all around with a thin layer of buttercream and let harden for one hour in the refrigerator.
-
Knead the FunCakes Electric Yellow sugar paste until pliable, then roll it out on a surface dusted with icing sugar to a thickness of about 2-3 mm. Cover the cakes with it. Stack the cakes using a custom-cut cake board and a few support dowels also cut to size.
-
For the decoration, knead the FunCakes Bella Blue and Midnight Blue sugar pastes until pliable, then briefly mix them to create a marbled effect. Do not knead too long or the colors will become uniformly blue. Roll out the paste to about 1-2 mm thickness and cut rounds where the smallest star cutter from the set fits perfectly. Next, cut stars out of the rounds and let them air dry for one hour.
