Austrian Sachertorte
Original FunCakes recipe
The Sachertorte is a famous cake from Vienna, consisting of a chocolate cake layered with apricot jam and covered with a thick layer of chocolate glaze. The original recipe is however a secret guarded by the Sacher family, but this recipe comes so close that you might almost believe it is the original.

Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 150°C (convection oven 120°C).
-
Prepare 400 grams of FunCakes dark chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions. Grease the pan with the release spray and spread the batter. Bake the cake in the middle of the oven for 50 - 60 minutes. Let it cool for 10 minutes in the pan before turning it out onto the cooling rack.
-
Cut the cake once with the cake leveler. Spread a layer of apricot jam on the first layer, then place the second layer on top.
-
Prepare 200 grams of FunCakes chocolate ganache mix as indicated on the package. Place the cake on the cake stand. Set the cooling rack on the baking sheet, place the mixing bowl on top, then put the cake on the mixing bowl. Pour the ganache over the cake ensuring it flows down the sides. You can use the spatula to help. Let the ganache drip and scrape the lower edge of the cake with the spatula to remove any excess.
-
Gently lift the cake and place some chocolate wafers along the edge. Sprinkle the chopped pistachios in a circle on top and let the cake set in the refrigerator.
