Your questions, our advice
What is the difference between a pearlescent coloring and a classic coloring?
A pearlescent coloring such as Pearl Color uses a pearlescent pigment that reflects light, creating a luminous, pearly effect, whereas a classic coloring gives a flat shade without any particular shimmer.
Can Pearl Color Red be applied directly with a brush?
Yes, dilute a small amount of powder in food-grade alcohol (such as plain vodka) to make a pearlescent paint that can be brushed onto dry chocolate or sugar paste.
Does this food coloring require a child warning on the label?
Pearlescent colorings such as Pearl Color generally use pearlescent mineral pigments rather than azo dyes subject to regulatory warnings; however, check the ingredients list on the label you receive before use.
