Floral decoration: sugar flowers
Cutters, veiners, gum paste, floral wire and tape for making realistic sugar flowers.
Making sugar flowers
Floral work is done with gum paste, which rolls out very thin and dries hard. Cut it with a cutter, mark the veins with a veiner, shape it over foam, then leave it to dry on a support before assembling.
Assembling a bouquet
Mount the petals and leaves on floral wire, join them with floral tape, then brush on powders for a natural gradient. Place the finished bouquet on the cake using a food-safe pick (the wire should not pierce the cake directly).
Frequently asked questions

Is floral wire edible?

How do you color flowers?
Using a brush with coloring powders, in a gradient from the center toward the edges.
